How are you?

It’s been about a year since my last post…wow can’t believe it’s been that long already.

Everyday we meet so many different people from all walks of life wether it be at work, gym or just passing by in the streets and every day we are greeted in so many different ways. A simple smile can fill you with warmth and can often be enough to turn that frown upside down.

Fun fact- It takes 26 muscles to smile – so work out your face.

A hand shake, again something so simple and yet can give you a feeling of acceptance, and often recognised as a sign of friendship. This is something that we as individuals can have a lot of fun with and make unique depending on who we greet and is generally impacted by the social crowds we accosiate ourselves with.

Which ever way we decide to be greeted or decide to greet others, I think I’m right in saying at some point throughout our day and definelty lives were asked the question “how are you?” or “how are you feeling?” And generally our typical response would be something like “I’m good, thanks” or “im ok” or something of that nature. Whether we mean what say in response to that question is a different matter all together, whatever the reason behind our response only we know.

Now for me personally I like to think that I have a positive outlook on life and try not to let anything phase me. For the most part that works for me but for about 25% of the time I have that worry, sadness, fear and the feeling of I don’t know what to do. This could be for a number of reasons, it could be job related, financial, relationship or whatever it may be but you know what i do….I smile.

Just think about this for a second, no matter what your situation take a long hard look around you and ask your self ” what do I see?, what do I actually have in my life? I think when you look you will see that in actual fact we’re actually quite well off and it’s not that bad at all.

So when I’m asked how I am, my response to people is the text book response ” I’m good thanks”. So let me explain my reasons for this, there are 3 reasons why I say this..

1. I’ve been blessed enough to wake up every morning and enjoy a new day.

2. I have my friends and family around me.

3. I have my health.

Everything else inbetween is a bonus and for that I’m grateful.

So I say to you all, be grateful for what you have no matter how big or small and remember every new day is a blessing. Always remember whatever we are going through we’re the fortunate ones with a support group around us and that there is someone out there that is worse off.

Enjoy life, enjoy family, enjoy everything you have and most importantly smile because one smile from you can spread happiness and help people in more ways than you can ever Imagine.
